NIH S10 Grant Supports Installation of Spinning Disk Confocal Microscope!
Providence College has received an NIH S10 Basic Instrumentation Grant (PI: Dr. Kristi Miller) to purchase a Nikon CSU-W1 spinning disk confocal microscope. This new instrument significantly expands advanced imaging capabilities and undergraduate research opportunities at PC and in the greater RI community!

Wrapped up our summer research with 3 fantastic poster presentations at RI-SURS at the University of Rhode Island! So proud of all that these students accomplished this summer!

Ended the academic year with a sunny lab picnic! Grateful for this hardworking, curious, and wonderful group of student researchers. Excited to have Ben, Rachel, Caroline, Elena and Pablo continue their work in the lab this summer! (Not pictured – Paige!)

A special congratulations to Elena Cabral, who earned an Honorable Mention in the Undergraduate Poster Competition at the ASBMB annual meeting in Chicago, IL!

We attended ASBMB in Chicago, where Elena Cabral ’26, Benjamin Kuran ’26, Geraldin Argandona ’26, Rachel Burke ’26, and Pablo Andres ’27 presented their research!

Paige Duggan and Dylan Hernandez were selected among 200 undergraduates from 115 institutions across the country to present at the National Undergraduate Research Conference held at Brown University!

Elena Cabral has been awarded a Goldwater Scholarship – the nations most prestigious undergraduate award in the sciences!

Sad to see the summer end with this awesome research crew! But excited to see what the Fall semester will bring!
